Both replies appear to be AMD Radeon flavour graphics cards- could this be the issue? (Im on Nvidia).

I'd rather put those bucks in to another game until someone gets his fingers out of the warm hole to fix our issues.

Have you tried running eve in Win 7 compatibility mode?

Microsoft Win8 does not drive space ships coded from another age.

To set Eve to use a compatibility mode do the following, you may need all or only some of the steps depending on how you already have your computer set up. As I donGÇÖt use compatibility mode to run Eve I give no guarantee this will work for you.

From the metro interface click the GÇÿDesktopGÇÖ icon
On the desktop click the folder icon on the left of the taskbar, it may open as a Library view
Click the GÇÿComputerGÇÖ section to open the computer disk and file browser
Use this to navigate to the folder in which you have installed Eve

IGÇÖm not sure how Eve is installed with Steam as IGÇÖve not installed it under Windows 8 but you would need to look somewhere in '\Steam\SteamApps\Common\whatever steam has installed here for eve'

Start with the following files in order, try setting up compatibility mode for each file then testing if Eve will run.

To set compatibility mode, right click each file and from the popup menu select GÇÿPropertiesGÇÖ and from this window click the GÇÿCompatibilityGÇÖ tab. I leave you to adjust the settings or use the automatic system as you require.

Start with \CCP\Eve\bin\ExeFile.exe

Then work back with each of the following testing each change,
\CCP\Eve\Launcher\Launcher.exe,
\CCP\Eve\eve.exe

Note: the above files may not have the extensions (.exe) visible unless you have turned on GÇÿFile name extensionsGÇÖ from the GÇÿViewGÇÖ menu at the top of the file browser window.

Few issues that I have had (note I have only ever played EVE on Windows 8):

• Since retribution the number of socket closed errors I have had have been quite high
• Since 4 patches ago, EVE decides it does not want to load the client, some basic work arounds have been compatibility mode and/or run as administrator or even uninstalling eve completely.
• At times even can use up to 950MB of Memory at a time (just before it decides that later on it will not load again)

Those are the main two issues when running one or multiple clients that I have had
